A Clark County-based property company, Deer Point Meadows Investments, will pay $2,000 to the Washington Attorney General’s Office after sending rent-increase notices to tenants at several of its properties in Clark County and the Tri-Cities after a rent-cap law took effect in the state.
Deer Point Meadows is owned by Denise and Michael Werner .
Deer Point Meadows sent rent-increase notices to tenants at Hidden Village Mobile Home Park in Hazel Dell, Tri-Cities RV Park, Clark County Fairgrounds RV Park in Ridgefield and Ninety-9 RV Park in Vancouver, according to a statement from the attorney general’s office. The notices were issued after House Bill 1217 took effect .
The Werners did not respond to The Columbian’s request for comment before press time.
The law states that landlo
