A two-year construction project for a roundabout at the intersection of Northeast 179th Street and Northeast 29th Avenue will get underway later this month, according to Clark County Public Works.

The project has been in the planning stages since at least 2022. The existing intersection, which has one travel lane in each direction and is controlled by stop signs, is being replaced with a roundabout. According to the county, the change is necessary to handle increasing traffic volumes coming from residential and commercial developments in the area.

During construction, each roadway section connecting to the intersection will be closed in stages. Public Works is working on final review and approval of the contractor’s closure and construction staging plans.
