BETHALTO, Ill. (First Alert 4) - They live in different parts of Bethalto, they have different lives and are different ages -- but what’s connecting all of these residents is the discolored water that pours from their pipes.

Shaun Flatt, Sandra Teets and Erica Wagenblast all say the Village of Bethalto is flushing pipes to deal with discoloration, however, they don’t feel like anyone is saying why it’s happening -- or what might be in it.

First Alert 4 spoke with three residents about the situation, all from different areas of town and backgrounds. They all claimed the same thing – discolored water intermittently discharges from their pipes – sometimes during a shower, sometimes during cooking and even turning on the tap.
