NORTH MUSKEGON, Mich. — The City of North Muskegon kicked off its Northside Summer Spectacular this weekend with its annual parade down Ruddiman Drive.

On Thursday, more than 70 floats were in the parade, which began at City Hall, passed the "four corners," and finished up at Charles St., spanning about eight blocks.

In the parade was everyone from local school marching bands to antique cars, as well as fire trucks and police officers.

"It's just super fun, lots of candy and giveaways," said organizer Stephanie Dahlquist. "We're kicking off the whole weekend of fun tonight."

The weekend festival will have food sponsored by the deck, bounce houses, a petting zoo, a corn hole tournament, a duck the jeep event, face painting, music, fireworks, a pancake breakfast and a color run.
