PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum and head coach Joe Mazzulla headlined a groundbreaking for a childhood education center in Providence Thursday.

The childhood education center will be located in the city's Manton Heights neighborhood, which is where the event took place.

"We are focused on making an impact for generations to come," Providence Housing Authority Executive Director Melissa Sanzaro said to a jam-packed crowd full of Celtics fans and residents. "By providing public housing residents access to affordable, high-quality early childhood education."

Both Tatum and Mazzulla also spoke at the ceremony.
