CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Harrison County Sheriff's Office revealed three new squad cars on Thursday that were purchased by the Harrison County Commission for its D.A.R.E program.

The D.A.R.E. program is an educational curriculum that aims to prevent drug use, gang involvement, and violent behavior.

Robert Waybright, Chief Deputy of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, emphasized the importance and impact of the new vehicles in the community.

“They are going to be visible to the community with the markings on it, and in addition to that, that's a full police cruiser with radar units, so that way the PROs within their assigned schools can set and enforce the school zone speed limits,” he said.

According to Waybright, the D.A.R.E. program has a lifelong impact on participants.
