PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WPRI) — Police have arrested three men following a months-long undercover sex trafficking and exploitation investigation out of Portsmouth.
Ricardo Ramirez, 28, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Josue Perez Gomez, 29, of Acushnet, Massachusetts, and Connor Macleod, 37, of Newport, have been charged in connection with the investigation, which began back in June.
Perez Gomez was taken into custody last month shortly after arriving at a predetermined location in Portsmouth, where police said he intended to engage in sexual activity with a minor.
His arrest followed an online exchange conducted through a website commonly used for illicit purposes, according to police.
Perez Gomez has been charged with patronizing a minor for commercial sexual activity, indecent solicitation of
