LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - In John Hines first year as South Laurel’s football head coach, the Cardinals went 6-4 on the season.

That was the programs first winning season since 2007.

“We’re just trying to be the best we can be,” Coach Hines said. “Our goal will always be to achieve our potential, and not look down the road, and not look behind us, and do the best we can to play our best game that Friday night, and try to win that game.”

The Cardinals are in a district that consists of North Laurel, Pulaski County, and Southwestern.

“Got a tough schedule,” Coach Hines stated. “Lot of really good teams on our schedule. District is extremely tough. I think all three of the other teams in our district are ranked in a lot of the polls in the preseason polls, so we’ve got our work cut out for us,
