PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sharon Kherat called the Peoria Stadium Dome , meant for athletic training, a “game-changer” for the city.

Kherat recently announced that the 141,532 sq ft. property was successfully inflated, and said remaining work on the $8 million project includes work on the lobby, turf, scoreboards and sound system. Also included in the work are adding new lights and climate control, with major amenities, including the TrackMan golf simulators and a full-bias cable system.

She remembers when her son was younger and had to commute to Pekin and other cities for a practice area.
