The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to lower the current speed limit near Scott's Corner in Audrain County, according to a news release.

MoDOT said it will lower the speed limit to 10 mph within about a quarter mile of the roundabout near Scott's Corner near the Community R-6 School, in addition to other areas.

The department said the speed limit on Missouri 19 and U.S. 54 will also be reduced from 60 mph to 50 mph while Route BB's speed limit will go from 55 mph to 45 mph.

A lane closure will take place as each new sign is installed, beginning Aug. 18. Flaggers will help direct traffic throughout each work zone.

As soon as new signs are installed to inform drivers of the change, enforcement in the area will start, according to the release.
