A Calgary man is facing charges after a woman was attacked by someone who broke into her home in the city’s southeast last week.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Erin Woods Blvd SE around 1:30 p.m. on July 30 for reports of a break-in.

Police say the suspect who broke in physically attacked a woman who lived at the home once he was inside. Another male resident then got into a fight with the suspect.

Neighbours called 911 and the suspect was arrested once officers arrived.

Police have charged 30-year-old Benjamin Ronald Lane Johnson with one count of breaking-and-entering with intent to commit assault.
