A routine traffic stop for a broken tag light and illegal window tint results in a significant drug seizure and new felony charges for a man with a lengthy criminal history.
TAMPA, Fla. – A routine traffic stop on Wednesday night led to the arrest of a 45-year-old man with more than 75 prior charges after deputies discovered nearly three pounds of cocaine.
The incident began just after 10:30 p.m. on August 6, 2025, when deputies attempted to stop a vehicle near the intersection of North Nebraska Avenue and Skipper Road for a broken tag light and illegal window tint. Instead of pulling over, the vehicle continued before eventually stopping at an apartment complex on Skipper Road.
As the car came to a halt, passenger Antwan Wesley, 45, exited the vehicle while holding a plastic package.
