SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WBAY) - Heavy fog caused a chain of crashes involving more than a dozen vehicles on Sheboygan County’s Highway 23 on Thursday, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office initially reported the basic details of the crashes Thursday morning, but in an update later the same day, more details were released.
On further investigation, the sheriff’s office said it was determined that a 79 year old woman from Sheboygan was originally traveling west on State Highway 23 operating a 2022 Cadillac. She made a U-turn at Sunset Road in front of a 19 year old man from Sheboygan who was operating a 2019 Toyota east on State Highway 23.
Both of those vehicles became disabled due to damage in the east bound lanes of the highway and caused a chain reaction collision of five more vehi
