SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - City leaders take part in a city-wide domestic violence forum. Many key players from different agencies all took turns sharing things they are seeing and how they can collectively combat domestic violence.

The Shreveport Police Department says local domestic violence cases are on the rise. During a forum to address the issue, City Council Chairwoman Tabatha Taylor said city leaders are taking proactive steps to confront the problem head-on.

"Shreveport being one of those areas we started trending down and now we're trending back up, so I think it's important for individuals to know, who are affected by domestic violence, what resources are available," said Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor.
