SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- After a cooler start to the month, summer heat has returned for many of us today.

Meteorologist Jaelyn Borresen shows us what we can expect with this warm-up going into the weekend.

August started off feeling like fall for some, but today near to above average highs returned for everyone. The ridge that is responsible for this warm-up will stick around heading into the weekend.

Highs in the 90s already seen in western South Dakota will expand for tomorrow. The warmest highs are expected East River as widespread 90s will be in store, along with the chance for a few triple digits. And even if others don't reach that 100-degree benchmark, it could feel like it.
