SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - The path towards a new men's prison in South Dakota is moving forward. Friday, Governor Larry Rhoden announced the State of South Dakota entered an agreement that grants the State the option of purchasing land at the proposed Benson road site in northeast Sioux Falls.
The land of approximately 148 acres between Gage Brothers Concrete and the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society was one of two options the Project Prison Reset Task Force recommended the state to purchase for a new men's prison.
