ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Inside the Cobb County 911 call center, every second counts.

Operators handle 2,200 calls a day, about a million a year and dispatchers notify first responders within 60 seconds of every call.

“Our motto is impacting lives one call at a time and our people show up and do that every single day,” 911 Center community relations supervisor Desmond Harris said.

Now the Cobb County Department of Emergency Communications hopes that new artificial intelligence technology will make emergency responses even faster, smarter and more reliable.
