Ozona finished 7-4 overall and 3-2 in District 3-2A Division I last season, and the Lions were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

And now they will try to take things a step further in 2025 under Pitts, who spent the previous three seasons as the head coach at New Diana.

New Diana went 11-1 in Pitts' final season in 2024, and the Eagles dropped a 42-35 decision against Daingerfield in the area round of the playoffs.

Expectations are high for Ozona this season. Texas Football picked the Lions to win the district championship.
