In a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Chugach Electric unveils its brand-new community solar project, the first of its kind in the state.

Anchorage community member and current subscriber to the new solar project, Penny Gage, exclaims, "I hope this is the first of many community solar projects, not just in Anchorage but across the whole railbelt. It's a great program, community members are hungry for it. There were more people, I believe, who wanted to sign up for this than were able to."

The new solar panel project has already been fully booked out. With 260 Chugach Electric members already subscribing to the new service.
