MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - A longtime business in Muscatine will soon be able to expand and bring more jobs to the community.

Carver Pump is a three-generation family business that’s been in Muscatine for over 85 years.

Thursday evening, the city approved a deal with the business and to help kickstart the business’s expansion.

The city agreed to offer up more than a million dollars in tax incentives.

It’s a deal that Muscatine’s Mayor, Brad Bark said will be great for both the city and the local economy.

“There is so much Muscatine momentum happening right now and to have Carver Pump .. one of the foundations of the community, investing .. you know.. $10M.. it means everything,” Mayor Bark said.
