A woman is behind bars after she was accused of posing as a nurse and treating thousands of patients without a license, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office in Florida.

The suspect was identified as Autumn Bardisa, 29, of Palm Coast.

During a seven-month investigation, officials discovered Bardisa was pretending to be a licensed nurse by using someone else's license number.

She was accused of providing fraudulent documents to secure a position as an advanced nurse technician at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway.

"I would say this is greed or wanting a job so bad that you would manipulate a system and assume somebody's identity to be able to practice," Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said during a news conference. "You went to school, but you failed the exam."
