FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – As construction continued Thursday for a park roughly two decades in the making near the intersection of Peach Avenue and Geary Street in Southeast Fresno, the project got a major update from city lawmakers, and finally a proposed name.
“I am proud to bring a resolution to city council next Thursday for formal adoption of the 49-acre park to be named Southeast Fresno Sports Complex," said Fresno City Councilmember for District 5 Brandon Vang.
Officials say the nearly $12 million project will provide amenities that most Southeast Fresno residents have had to travel out of the area for. Amenities will include a large green space, a walking path, shaded picnic and barbecue areas, and state-of-the-art turf sports fields for baseball, pickleball, cricket and socce
