Superintendent Lori S. Duerr announced on Tuesday , August 5, that a new principal has been hired for Mullen-Hall Elementary School.

Shannon Carlson, who was formerly an assistant principal at Dennis-Yarmouth Elementary School, will be stepping into the role.

Carlson said her leadership style revolves around caring for “the whole child.” Meeting students’ educational, wellness, emotional, social and cultural needs is a priority for Carlson.

In a phone call with the Enterprise, Carlson said her top priority for her first school year as principal will be to build trusting relationships with staff, students and families. Carlson said that consistency and communication are vital skills needed in school leadership.
