Travelers headed in and out of Spain are bracing for significant disruptions from August 15 to August 17, 2025. The Daily Mail is reporting that over 3,000 baggage handlers employed by Azul Handling, a subsidiary of Ryanair, will begin a strike action at 12 airports in Spain. These will commence on August 15 and then repeat every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of December.

FeSMC-UGT, the union representing these ground handlers, cites numerous grievances with Azul Handling's labor practices. The union is focusing on issues such as work hours, restrictions on medical leave, and sanctions imposed on employees. However, Ryanair states that it does not expect significant disruptions to its operations.
