This weekend, we took a trip to Cotuit. Our route brought us straight down Route 28, past the Commons at the Mashpee Rotary. We took the same path on our way home.
It was not fun.
Traffic is brutal enough and, as we drove, all we could think about was how much more nightmarish the stretch of Route 28 between Shellback Way and the rotary will be with all of the new housing developments and other projects proposed for the area. It already feels oversaturated. Even just thinking about the four highly concentrated projects in that area—with the Mashpee Commons project getting underway, the proposed Chipotle and grocery store nearby, and the new On Commons 40B project at the corner of Job’s Fishing Road—overwhelms us.
