PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A dispute over loud music ended in a deadly shooting in Portsmouth early Friday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to the one block of Decatur Street around 1:20 a.m., where they found 32-year-old Kiersten Renee Moore unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.

While heading to the scene, officers saw a vehicle matching the suspected shooter’s car speeding on Effingham Street. Before they could initiate a stop, police said the driver crashed into a parked vehicle.

When officers approached, they found the driver, identified as 33-year-old Larry Mitchell, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
