LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood could soon see more parking meters along a two-mile stretch of Baxter Avenue and Bardstown Road.
A study by private firm Walker Consultants estimates the 328 new meters would bring in more than $200,000 each year for Louisville’s Parking Authority.
While the plan isn't official, it’s already causing concern for those who live and work in the area.
Masoud Taheri, who owns Euro Imports on Bardstown Road, said the sight of more parking meters is enough to drive customers and their business away from the area.
“A lot of the businesses up and down south are struggling,” Taheri said. “There are a lot of old established businesses that have shut down or closing down."
