ESSEX, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Authorities in Essex responded to a fire within the area of Mad Taco early Friday morning.

Police officers reportedly discovered a fire on Essex Way, behind the Mad Taco restaurant at 12:50 a.m. Essex Junction and Essex Fire Departments were among those dispatched to extinguish the fire, according to an EFD social media post.

The Made Taco took some damage from the fire. Still, fire crews were able to extinguish the flames and clear smoke from multiple buildings.

The situation in question is currently under investigation.
