ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - The Townville Volunteer Fire Department reported that Highway 243 is currently shut down.

Townville Fire, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said they are currently operating on wires across the roadway at the intersection of Highway 243 and Highway 24.

Highway 243 and Firefly Road are both closed off of Highway 24. The Townville Fire Department did not give an estimation for when the roads will be reopened.

Townville Fire suggests drivers use Prater Gin Road between Highway 24 and Highway 243 as an alternate route.
