GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — You may see a famous face around UNC Greensboro this upcoming fall semester.
Tony-nominated actor David Furr joins the staff of the School of Visual and Performing Arts. Furr most recently starred in HBO Max's hit series "The Gilded Age."
He will teach several classes at the university, including "Acting for the Camera." This will be a homecoming of sorts for Furr. He grew up in Greensboro, graduating from Page High School in the 90s.
Furr's worked in the entertainment industry for decades on stage as well as in television and film. UNCG leadership recruited Furr to teach at the school while maintaining his acting career, in hopes of sharing his real-world experience with the students.
Shannon Smith talked with Furr about his decision to return to the Triad.
