PHOENIX — With the 2025 NFL season set to kick off next month, so too returns an Arizona tradition that uses football as a way to support local teachers.
Salt River Project’s Touchdowns for Teachers program is back for its seventh year. It awards two educators $500 each time the Arizona Cardinals score a touchdown.
Anita Verdugo Tarango of SRP says the partnership with the Cardinals was designed to make a direct impact on students by empowering teachers.
“We all know that teachers often spend money out of their own pockets for class supplies and this grant allows them to not have to do that and still get the resources, and potentially more resources, into the classrooms to the students,” Tarango told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
