WESTBROOK, Maine (WMTW) - The suspect in the robbery of a Chase Bank in Westbrook has been arrested. Westbrook Police say Jean Gendron, of Smyrna, South Carolina, was arrested 6 hours after the theft, getting off a bus in Londonderry, New Hampshire.
Gendron is being held in the Granite State on a fugitive from justice charge and is expected to be extradited back to Maine.
Police say they do not know why he was in Maine. Thursday’s robbery was the third bank robbery in Greater Portland in the past five days.
Saturday, the Bangor Savings Bank on Brighton Avenue was robbed. The Kennebec Savings Bank on Baxter boulevard near Hannaford was robbed Wednesday. The suspect from the two Portland robberies appear to wearing the same style hat and blue latex gloves. Police haven’t said whethe
