DETROIT - The Detroit Riverfront hasn’t had this many Tall Ships docked at once since 2001. This is all part of the Sail Detroit Festival .
The Alliance, Empire Sandy, Pride of Baltimore II, and Ernestina-Morrissey all docked on Thursday, August 7 and will be on the Detroit River through Sunday, August 10.
You can view the ships from the Riverfront for free, but you’ll need tickets, which you can buy here , to board them.
Once on board these schooners, you can meet some of the crew, including Jenna Trammell, Second Mate of the Ernestina-Morrissey.
The Akron, Ohio native has been on the ship since March and says this is her first time traveling to Detroit.
