TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—A car was found submerged in a Riverview pond after a multiple-county pursuit involving a robbery suspect, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

FHP said Troop C troopers were told that Troop F troopers were pursuing a robbery subject in a 2025 Toyota Sedan around 2:32 a.m. in Manatee County.

Both the FHP and the Manatee County Sheriff's Office worked together on the pursuit.

Troopers lost sight of the sedan and received a crash alert notification from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, where they found the vehicle submerged in a pond at Gibsonton Drive and Mathog Road.

According to FHP, Hillsborough aviation and dive units assisted in a search of the area and the recovery of the vehicle.
