ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A man jumped off a 15th floor balcony to escape the FBI trying to serve them a criminal arrest warrant Friday morning. The person died on the scene.

Federal investigators from the FBI's Washington Field Office were at the Alexander Apartments on King Street, attempting to arrest the man around 6 a.m. The person went out a window onto the 15th floor balcony, where FBI spokesperson Kelly Conner said they jumped.

Authorities rushed down out of the building to try to resuscitate the person, but they were not able to. Conner said the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death.
