PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A woman was rushed to the hospital Friday morning after a crash in Pawtucket.

Battalion Fire Chief David Cairrao told 12 News a dump truck and a black Sedan collided in the area of Mendon Avenue and Benefit Street around 7:45 a.m.

The driver was removed from the car by first responders and taken to the hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.

The dump truck driver appeared to be uninjured and refused treatment, Cairrao said.

A pole was also snapped in half, and wires are down on the street.

Rhode Island Energy is on scene. It's unclear what caused the crash at this time.
