A major UK bank has urged customers to use Chip and Pin when using their card - rather than contactless - when abroad. Halifax spoke out on X, formerly Twitter, after a customer got in touch ahead of a holiday out of the country.
One customer said: " @HalifaxBank off to America soon and worried my card won't work out there, who do I have to contact if my card gets blocked when trying to use it? I have the app installed, the website says you use security to check, panicking it will say fraudulent as I'm out the country..."
Halifax replied: "Hi Marc, I'm Lindsay. Thanks for getting in touch. If you run in to any problems using any of your cards whilst in America, you can send us a message via your mobile banking app for support, 24/7. I hope this helps put your mind at ease"
