For a while there, you couldn’t help but wonder if the Hamilton Tiger-Cats really are a team sprinkled in magic pixie dust. Maybe this team actually was going to find a way to win every time they stepped on the field.

Because when they pushed the B.C. Lions to overtime on Thursday night in a game they had no business being that close in, you could be excused for thinking maybe they couldn’t lose.

Alas, that bubble was burst when a B.C. field goal in extra time — after a Tim White fumble — gave the Lions a 41-38 win in front of a sold-out Hamilton Stadium crowd.

It was a deflating way to end a six-game winning streak for sure. And it kept Hamilton from opening a two-game lead atop the East standings. But the mere fact the home side was even competitive in this game was nothing less
