Another heat wave is coming, with daytime high temperatures forecast to exceed 30 C.

August, so far, was a slight reprieve from extreme heat after scorching hot July had 11 days with daytime high temperatures peaking over 30 C.

The break is over.

Forecasted temperatures between 30 and 33 C Saturday to Tuesday prompted Environment Canada to issue a hot weather warning. Humidity is expected to make the multiday heat event feel much warmer — between 35 and 40.

Little overnight relief is expected. Temperatures are forecast to drop to a low of only 19 C.

Slightly cooler weather midweek should end the heat warning.

“Extreme heat can affect everyone’s health,” the weather agency says. “Check on older adults, those living alone and other at-risk people.”
