SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews responded to a residential structure fire late Thursday night in the 400 block of Wilson Street.

The fire happened at 11:38 p.m. Fire crews arrived three minutes later to find heavy black smoke coming from a two-story home.

A heavy fire was found on the first floor. The fire was brought under control shortly after midnight.

No one was injured. However, the home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office at 757-514-4550.
