DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) — Dane County Emergency Management will conduct a backup test of its outdoor warning siren network today, Aug. 8, at noon.
This test follows a technical issue that prevented the scheduled test on Aug. 6 .
Dane County Emergency Management oversees 144 outdoor warning sirens across the county. The team has been working with its vendor since the failed test to ensure the system functions correctly, according to a press release.
Outdoor warning sirens alert those outside to severe weather threats, signaling them to go indoors for more information. The system is usually tested at noon on the first Wednesday of each month.
