Former massage therapy employee charged with rape, assault of client

SALEM, Mass. —

A former employee of a massage therapy business on Massachusetts' North Shore is facing charges of rape and indecent assault involving a client.

Ronny Paulino Colon, 32, of Lynn, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman on June 11 at the Swampscott business where he previously worked, according to the Essex County District Attorney's office.

Colon was arraigned Thursday in Essex County Superior Court on one count of rape and five counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14. Bail was set at $10,000 with conditions including that Colon must surrender his passport, stay away from the victim, possess no weapons and not work as a massage therapist.

Colon's next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 18.
