WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Two people were killed in a crash on Highway 11E Wednesday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).
A THP crash report states a 2018 Kia Forte was heading east on the highway at a high rate of speed.
According to the THP, the Kia collided with a 2018 Mazda CX9 at the intersection of Knob Creek Dock Road shortly after 6 p.m.
The driver of the Kia and an adult passenger in the Mazda were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Kia was identified as 31-year-old Thomas Elliott. Elliot was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt.
The deceased Mazda passenger was identified by the highway patrol as Peter Sokol, Jr., 75.
The driver and a juvenile passenger in the Mazda were both listed as injured.
