BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Zoo is inviting the community to help name its newest resident, a male ocelot kitten.
The kitten was born on May 13, 2025 to Anahi, a nine-year-old ocelot.
This is the third ocelot born at the zoo in the past 10 years, which zoo officials say is encouraging since ocelots are endangered in North America, with only around 100 said to roam in the wild. However, their populations remain high in Central and South America.
As the playful feline continues to settle into his new habitat, the Zoo has launched a public vote to choose his name from five options selected by the animal care team.
Here are the names to choose from:
Voting is open now and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11. The winning name will be announced on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
