TILTON, N.H. —

Police have identified the driver who died when a tractor-trailer went off Interstate 93 and into a river early Friday morning.

Tilton-Northfield Fire Chief Michael Sitar told News 9, around 1:45 a.m. they got a report of the tractor-trailer that went off I-93 southbound, past Exit 20.

The bridge goes over railroad tracks and the Winnipesaukee River.

New Hampshire State Police said the tractor-trailer driver, who was identified as Benjamin A. Wilson, 48, of Granby, Vermont, failed to negotiate a curve in the road, broke through the center guardrail, went through the median and embankment, across the railroad tracks and into the river.
