GAYLORD — The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to rebuild the I-75 and M-32 (Main Street) interchange in Gaylord as a diverging diamond starting in 2026.
According to the draft 2026-30 Five-Year Transportation Program, the project will include replacing the I-75 bridges over M-32, rebuilding Main Street from Meecher Road to Wisconsin Avenue, resurfacing Main Street from Murner Road to Meecher Road, and installing sidewalks from Townline Road to Little League Drive.
The proposed diverging diamond design is intended to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes by shifting traffic to the opposite side of the road at the interchange.
