PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A man from Winner, SD, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for abusive sexual contact with a child.
Clayton Spotted Calf, 30, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Eric C. Schulte on August 5, 2025, after being indicted by a federal grand jury in June 2024.
Spotted Calf will have five years of supervised release and will pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Between April 2015 and June 2017, Spotted Calf engaged in sexual contact with a child, who was then between the ages of six and eight years old, within the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation.
The U.S. Attorney’s office prosecuted the crimes under the Major Crimes Act, which mandates that specific violent crimes alleged to have occurred in Indian country will be prosecuted in Federal court
