GULF BREEZE, Fla. (WKRG) — A teacher at Gulf Breeze High School has been fired after she was arrested back in July for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student.
The Santa Rosa County school board unanimously approved to terminate 36-year-old Molly Mersereau from her position, effective on Aug. 8.
Mersereau was arrested on July 29 on charges of using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, second-degree felony criminal solicitation, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Santa Rosa Chief Deputy Randy Tifft said the relationship with the minor female began in February, and Mersereau tried to continue communicating with the student by buying her a phone.
Mersereau was released from jail on a $41,000 bond.
