FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 16-year-old Fort Wayne boy was sentenced for aggravated battery and robbery Friday morning.

Nayshaun Washington was first charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and armed robbery, as well as a sentencing enhancement for using a gun in a November shooting and an October armed robbery.

Last month, he accepted a plea agreement that allowed him to plead guilty to aggravated battery and robbery in exchange for his other charges being dismissed.

Allen Superior Court Judge David Zent sentenced Washington to 12 years in prison for aggravated battery and a 2-year executed sentence for robbery.

The judge recommended that he receive juvenile treatment while at the Indiana Department of Correction.
