SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - One person is dead after a crash in Shreveport that happened Thursday evening (Aug. 7).

Police say it happened around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Greenwood Road and Mission Street.

When officers got there, they found a wreck involving two cars, both of which had significant damage. The crash involved a Mercedes CTS and a 2015 Dodge Challenger.

Police say the driver of the Mercedes was found unconscious with serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Challenger cooperated with police and submitted to a standard field sobriety test. Police say it does not appear the driver was intoxicated.
